Posed with the challenge of creating a fictional company, we created the parent company “Retinablu” with a mission of bringing socially relevant media to the world, raising awareness, creating connection, and inspiring action. BluSky is my created division that targets a youthful crowd that has time to socialize and want to network and meet new people.
BluSky also might attract people who are retired or self-employed and looking for ways to engage intellectually with others. People are invited to host and show a movie or episode in their home, yard, or other possible venue. It operates like a Meetup or book group for films. The site would selectively curate and offer three films per month.
Project Overview
OpenTable is a site that connects restaurants with customers allowing them to reserve tables in cities all over the world. In this redesign demo, I adapted parts of the mobile site to increase the number of customers and improve usability. The search feature would have more detailed options with a minimal layout. For those who prefer less choice and decision-making, they could use an instant "reservation" feature. This would also add element of surprise within set parameters.
This project was to rebrand a city logo. The city itself has fascinating history and architecture so that was chosen to be emphasized in the new logo. The current city logo commonly uses the Maryland crab as a symbol. The colors of this new logo reflect the pride in the baseball team, the Orioles. The slanted “L” represents a slanted building downtown. The “T” is identified by the waves on the aquarium building. The “I” is a historical fort tower midtown, and the “O” shows the lights reflected in the inner harbor at night. The “E” is a bridge turned on its side.
The food truck design was a project to create a menu, website, and truck design for a small food business. The design is supposed to reflect simple, healthy ingredients integrating Indian spices. The web app is intended to help customers track the location of the truck and order food for pick up. Customers can also access the menu and find social media links for updates.
