SOULDOODLES

Souldoodles is a platform and community to connect artists, designers, and illustrators. It aims to highlight the real, behind-the-scenes process by interviews and regular design challenges to share. The founder’s background is in Journalism and television and I was able to contribute my Visual Art background and UX Content Design skills to generate new ideas and strategy for the platform. There was close collaboration to develop the UX Writing on the website and emails, etc. There is now a podcast with all the interviews on Spotify.

CHALLENGE

Assisted the design team to understand and apply the tone/voice. I took several approaches including creating a style guide showing our design and content approach.

We worked by having one-on-one content reviews, and collaborative writing sessions to revise language in the product. I also created a content style guide to answer more detailed questions about punctuation, grammar, etc.

SOLUTIONS

After discussions with the founder, we created a new layout for the interviews. Previously images did not include the interviewee and there was no intro text previewing the info/interview. We collaborate on the monthly emails for content and copy edits. I also provide second opinion ux design feedback on logo and layouts, etc.

OVERVIEW

This is an incredible project that was created to inspire others and bring more connections to the design and illustration community. The founder has a background in both Design and Journalism. Lily brings enthusiasm and supportive dialogue to highlight and recognize the incredible design and artwork that exists. This was developed to be an inspiring platform to initiate connections and joy for creating. Highly recommend taking a look around the website.
